CARE & HANDLING

Always use the Best Care and Handling practices for fresh, long lasting flowers!

Your flowers have been shipped dry from farms in South America and may appear wilted. This is natural, for they have been without water for 24 hours and are very thirsty. Immediately upon arrival, your flowers need to be cared for. After proper hydration their appearance will change the flowers will bloom beautifully.

Prepare Containers

Fill clean container(s) with 4 inches of clean and cool water.

Prepare The Flowers

  • Remove the flowers from the box by cutting any straps on outside or inside of box.
  • Fill containers with prepared water and place the s tems in them.
  • Allow flowers at least 4-6 hours to re-hydrate - some flowers need up to 12 hours.
  • Check and maintain water levels - certain flowers absorb a lot of water quickly.
  • For freshest flowers recut stems and clean and refill containers with clean water every 2 days.
  • Do not place flowers in a warm environment or in the path of direct sunlight. A cool,
dark environment is best for the flowers until they need to be cut and arranged.

Specific Tips

Roses

Roses are packed in LAYERS within each bunch. The second layer of roses is not visible from the top of the bunch.

To confirm the number of roses in each bunch, flip the bunch over and count the stems. Keep the carton sleeve on each bunch for the first 4 hours of re-hydration.

Roses are shipped with their GUARD PETALS for extra protection. These petals may appear brownish and will need to be carefully removed after re-hydration.

Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are very thirsty flowers. After re-hydration, if the blooms still appear droopy, please submerge head of the hydrangea in water, lightly shake off the water from the head and make a diagonal cut 2 cm off the base of the stem, then place the flowers in water

You may also use a spray bottle to moisturise the heads without drunk- ing them. Make a diagonal cut 2 cm off the base of the stem, then place the flowers in water.

PLEASE DO NOT DUNK PAINTED HYDRANGEA BLOOMS IN WATER!!! The paint will run...

Asiatic & Oriental Lilies

Lilies are shipped with closed blooms and may need up to 4 days to fully open up. Once they begin to open up, gently remove the pollen sacks in each flower as the pollen will stain surfaces, including furniture and clothing.

Baby’s Breath (Gypsophila)

Baby’s Breath will keep fresh for a couple of weeks with proper care and handling.

Although the stems need to be placed in clean, fresh water, the little blooms should not get wet. Please keep Baby’s Breath in a cool environment for best results.
